Overnight Sunday and Substitute Homeless Shelter Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY: The homeless shelter Sunday night and substitute coordinator
supervises homeless residents staying in the shelter, enforces shelter
regulations and reward systems, maintains records, and manages facility.
The shelter coordinator provides relief for shelter overnight shifts.
Sunday night shift starts at 4:45 pm and ends at 7:00 am. Substitute coverage
will vary.
HOURS: Part-time position Sunday overnights and Substitute coverage as
needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
" High School degree or equivalent.
" Six months experience working in homeless shelter or human service
organization.
" Ability and Willingness to train on HMIS system and provide weekly
client data entry.
" Good organizational skills, ability to exercise initiative, judgment
and work independently.
" Experience and/or knowledge in conflict resolution.
" Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
" Flexibility in managing time and ability to work independently.
" Relate well to clients, volunteers, professional service provider
staff, other staff and general public.
" Ability to work well with people of varied experiences, attitudes
and backgrounds
" Ability to function as a cooperative and effective team player.
